Trying yet again to do a mega-dungeon map

Having tried many times before to create a mega-dungeon map that I am satisfied with I am trying yet again. This one isn't done yet (Need to finish the crosshatching, place hallway traps, and I am half way finished stocking it). This is the map so far-

  1. Looks awesome! By "stocking it" do you mean creating room descriptions, monster stats, treasure, etc.?

    1. Yes. I due a very skeletal key. One or two word description. Any monsters, traps, or treasure. Sometimes I just write down the monster and don't do stats (roll them at the time of play). The rest is done on the fly as we play. I do write down notes on things as I go so as to maintain consistency.

  2. Looks great, Keep the Dwarves or the Gnomes or whatever working on the structure. Can't wait to see the next levels.

  3. This might be worth putting in three dimensions, especially the western half. Want me to take a crack at it?

  4. Looks great. I have some of that 10-squares-to-the-inch blue graph paper - I haven't seen it used very often, but the small scale makes it great for large dungeons.

    Following your blog now.

  5. Great-looking dungeon so far, Sean! I still have a couple of A3 sheets of that stuff kicking around, but these days I draw the dungeon grid layout in SketchUp, print it out, and then get busy with the markers.
